Following our meeting with the County today (05/17/2024) we are issuing a PARKING ADVISORY effective immediately @ Valley View Park in Nokesville, which will be effective during events when the park is shared during soccer season. (approx APRIL-MID JUNE … LATE AUGUST-EARLY NOVEMBER) PWC is having serious concerns over safety and landscape issues, which we have agreed to help alleviate and look into.
The following will be EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:
*A (free of cost, this is not a paid permit, only an identifier) USSSA “Parking Decal” will be required by vehicles belonging to tournament participants. We will be printing and laminating these by the dozens to provide the day of (attendant in lot to hand them out) however if you want to save yourself time getting parked, you can pre-print a temporary pass and collect your permanent pass at the Directors table. We have them on hand at every event, you can see us anytime and get yours early. You will be required to have it visible on your dash at every event. Again, you can pick these up @ the Directors table at any event with Director- John Norman, beginning 05/18/2024).
*USSSA Tournament participants will be parking in lot #1 moving forward. This refers to the first parking lot on the right, when you enter the park.
*Directors and Vendors will be the only vehicles to park in the area surrounding the tower. All other vehicles must remain in the parking lots. Additionally, the outer loop and the drive ups (between fields 1/5 and 4/5) must always remain CLEAR for safety and emergency purposes (i.e no tents/tables/set ups blocking the drives)
**PLEASE NOTE- You will always VISUALLY know when you arrive, if parking restriction is in place. There will be larger signage, and a parking attendant for the immediate future, bright and early in a shiny orange vest, directing traffic- our vehicles into the first entrance to lot 1 and handing out parking decals to you on the way in, while directing soccer vehicles to the rear lot. Yes, we are asking you to sacrifice the “prime” parking. But this is for the greater good with the County to help everyone identify the parking issues we already face constantly, so I very kindly ask we all cooperate and hope your compliance benefits our program for the future. Let’s quickly make this parking situation routine, spread the word, Coaches require it of your players.
We hope to 1) Alleviate the safety concerns and landscape issue and 2) Gather data on who is who out there parking (and complying or not), the actual #’s each program is responsible for on average, etc- for our future contracts and negotiations.
